UEU signed an MOU with Chinese institution

The UEU signed on Saturday, December 2, during the China-LAC Summit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). The objective is to strengthen bilateral relations and intensify collaboration in the promotion of foreign trade of both countries.

UEU and INACOOP (National Cooperativism Institute) presented a work project called “Fostering foreign trade in cooperatives”

Uruguay’s Exporters Association and the National Cooperativism Institute (INACOOP) presented a work Project called “Fostering foreign trade in cooperatives” on November 26th 2012. It is aimed at small exports cooperatives or cooperatives with exports potential and it includes a foreign trade training course. The proposal has a first diagnostic stage to take place between December and February; then, in March, there will be a call for cooperatives interested in taking part in the training course and finally the course will begin between March and April, considering the needs stated by the cooperatives in the first stage.

Uruguay’s Exporters Association signs agreement to use our country’s brand: ‘Uruguay Natural’

In October 2012 Uruguay’s Exporters Association signed an agreement with Uruguay’s Presidency. Such agreement allows the Union to use the Country’s Brand ‘Uruguay Natural’ nationally as well as internationally.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mrs Liliam Kechichián, signed on behalf of Uruguay’s Presidency and CPA Alvaro Queijo – president of UEU – signed on behalf of the Union.

A Country’s Brand is a graphic, nominal and symbolic representation that identifies the country and differentiates it from others. It gives added value to the products the country generates.

UEU and the National Customs Direction sign a transparency and ethics memorandum

On March 22nd 2012 Uruguay’s Exporters Association and the National Customs Direction signed and ethics and transparency memorandum. Its main objective is to achieve higher transparency in customs activities as well as in foreign trade. Alejandro Bzurovski (UEU’s President), Teresa Aishemberg (Executive Secretary) and CPA Enrique Elena (Secretary), signed on behalf of UEU. Customs National Direction President, CPA Enrique Canon, signed on behalf of his institution. Patricia Reversz was present at the event representing the World Customs Organization (OMA).

These institutions committed to implement an annual action plan and to jointly carry out visits, diffusion workshops and customs training and to set up a commission with the objective of evaluating the memorandum’s impact and setting management indicators.
